Growing Deeper Counselling
Trees, as with all nature, begin in relationship. The sun, the air, and the rain provide food and nutrients for trees to grow, live and thrive. And it is not just the more obvious relationships, but also the hidden, underground relationships that provide the support and pathways for the growth and development in trees. In a similar way, counselling begins in relationship. A cooperative, collaborative relationship between the client(s) and counsellor becomes a source of support and a place to discover pathways for growth and development.
At Growing Deeper Counselling, the focus is on discovering and building client strengths and resources to help them journey through seasons of difficulty and crisis. This process can include diagnosing and resolving mental health issues, as well as working through past and present traumas, but the emphasis is on growing both mental and emotional depth to help clients experience healthier lives.
Part of the mission of Growing Deeper Counselling is to provide certified, professional counselling at an affordable rate. Fees start at $100/session with a lower sliding scale available for those who cannot afford that rate.
Sam Drew
Sam truly enjoys counselling. It is an amazing privilege to walk with others into the difficult areas of their hearts and lives. As a counsellor, Sam seeks to be caring and empathetic. He is a curious, compassionate listener. And he is skilled in encouraging collaborative dialog, leading to new insights and creating new possibilities for thinking, feeling, and action.
Sam has always had a passion for helping others grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually. His vocational journey has led him through a few different careers, searching for ways to live out that passion. He has served as a Christian pastor, a spiritual director, a teacher of spiritual formation, and a counsellor for youth at risk. Plus, he has maintained a career in information technology for many years.
Sam graduated from St. Stephen's College in 2023, with a Master of Psychotherapy and Spirituality.
